The REWORLDING network addresses how ecological challenges are experienced differently by different individuals, communities, and organisations, causing societal polarisation and impeding critically needed measures related to these issues.
The interpretation of ecological challenges differs across various actors, communities, and organisations, leading to societal division and impeding the swift implementation of necessary measures. The REWORLDING network is dedicated to investigating and outlining participatory design (PD) approach to enhance comprehension and establish synergies between the diverse worlds in which individuals reside and work, as well as the interconnected more-than-human worlds that they are entangled with.
Vision
A world where many world fit
Retracing
We aim to surface knowledge about human and non-human ways of caring for socioenvironmental challenges
Reconnecting
We will develop the necessary knowledge to engage with cross-sector and interdisciplinary collaborations
Reimagining
We will link Participatory Design methodologies to real-world (suburban) settings, which serve as living laboratories for reimagining socio-environmental change
Reinstitutioning
We identify, discuss and develop specific institutioning strategies that ensure the sound and wide dissemination and application of research results
We aim to develop and test advanced scientific and interdisciplinary Reworlding training modules within the network. The training modules will be published as open-access Reworlding MOOC on design capabilities. To ensures that our innovative educational resources reach a wider network, fostering interdisciplinary skills and knowledge essential for contemporary professional practice.
We aim to advance social innovation approaches by engaging in Participatory Action Research, public science methods and co-designing enhanced participatory methods and tools for collective, citizen-led and informal learning in the context of socio-environmental change.
The REWORLDING doctoral network is to train and equip next-generation researchers with the capabilities to advance the position of PD to better tackle socio-environmental challenges
